alt 248 will give you something like this 300°. Use the number pad as it does not seem to work from the numbers over the QWERTY keys.

You can even do stuff like ½ or ¼ Σ or ß Ω and so on.
In the old DOS programming days the puter had to suport ANSI.SYS to get these, now it is like Ragu "It's In There"
