Hey Rick I have a old home made Pitot tube bench that I just pick up a few weeks ago. But I want to make a few upgrades. First is a PTS manometer . Can someone tell me how to figure the inside area of round pipe. My pipe is 2.400 ID Thanks Tim

The fomula is Pi * (R)^2 or Pi * R Squared.
in your cas it would be 3.14159*(1.2*1.2) or 4.5239 Sq-Inchs

At at the current time the version of FlowSoft that runs the PTS DM does not support the Pito calculations. But if you are serious about doing this you will need the 100 DM and I would be glad to write the update to support a Pito Bench.

Thanks so much Rick! I'm sure going to take you up on that offer. But I can't order a Dm til late November. I'm having a pacemaker installed on Monday so I'm not Working for a little while. But as soon as I can order I Sure will. Thanks Tim

Hello again everyone. I'm trying to figure out the math for CFM on a head i tested last week . I tested the head at 10'' . At 600 lift on the exhaust the incliened manometer reading was 2.36 with 2.400 ID pipe BP was 30.16 at 59 deg's temp thanks tim

Tim, was that 2.36 of virtical rise on the incline or 2.36 on the scale at some angle?
