Need some help with a Superflow 110

My first bench, and I'm having some issues.
I can't seem to get much info from the net or the Superflow tech line.
Does anybody have any wiring diagrams, tube routing diagrams, or disassembly info. I've had the deck plate off to repair the intake and exhaust valves.

First question-

There is a short black wire on the top left terminal in the connections on the back wall that looks like it was glued to the bottom of the deck plate. Is this a factory way of grounding, or something someone rigged up?
