My wife and I were coming back from lunch and saw a blue car behind a motor home on a trailer. It looked like a Nissan Z car or something and it had a silver parachute pack on the back. I wish I had my camera with me as it had been on its top and looked to have the remnants of salt all over it. I would like to hear the story on that one. Here is there link to Speed Week http://www.scta-bni.org/Bonneville/Spee ... sults.html

I was out there this week end, My buddy wanted to go out to the salt flat to see it.

As we got out there, there was some people setting up for a race this coming week(15-17).

The weather was vary nice, in the mid 80s.

I would really liked to have stayed out there, for the race. something on my bucket list, that i have not done yet 8-)

I missed this thread! Here is one of my customers. Nothing too radical, just a nice street port. It was the first time out with the car so they wanted the work the bugs out before they went chasing any records.

Dan is not a member here but he made his dream of salt racing this September in a Studebaker. His team really struggled to get the car ready for tech and Dan had to get his license. Here he is for the 150 mph license run. Car was put together from a host of donors in just a few months. I sent a carb, trans shifter, and drag chute. You can see the parachute deploy on this run. Motor was a donor from a friend in Georgia who shipped it to Dan in California. Motor was a stock 289 Stude motor from a 57 Packard of all things. There best run was 159 something. They hope to go back next year with a special built engine. Shows what can be done when everyone chips in. Dan has throat cancer and the last lump can't be removed. He could use our prayers. The car won "best appearance award." (tom c)
