Yes, and you are not being hardheaded we do not expect people to come here as an "expert" we are here to help and do what it takes to teach "flowbench" no matter what your level of knowledge

The closest I could get the u-tube between upper and lower plenums is 1 1/4 inches
So what should be done to make them equal?
There is a plate on top.
Why does it have more pull on the bottom chamber than the top chamber?
When we get this ironed out we will tackle the incline.
Will not get to work on it tomorrow.

These will not match as you are pulling across a hole between the upper and lower chamber so you have a differential pressure ie 1-1/4".swnf wrote:The closest I could get the u-tube between upper and lower plenums is 1 1/4 inches

The idea is to use the U-tube to compare against the incline on each chamber to make sure your pickup is working correctly. You hook the u-tube to the top chamber and the incline and run your bench to a given depression say 5" and compare the incline to your u-tube. Then you do the same for the lower chamber. You want know your pickups are working and your gauges are matching.
Go back and read the Flowbench 101 post for more reference I am possibly adding more confusion . . .

Got to work on bench some today. Did this test on the top chamber only. Turned on the bench, set the pressure to 4". The incline went almost to 8"
How do you get the manometers the same? (change the angle some)
I will test the lower chamber tomorrow comparing manometers.

The lower chamber measured 7 11/16th's rise on the incline, 4" on the u-tube. How is this fixed?
4" on u-tube should be 8" rise on incline right

Don't worry about having them match you just wanted to make sure the bench connections are working correctly.
You will end up calibrating your incline manometer to calibration plates so any "matching" you do now will be re-done later on. The goal with the current test was just verifying you had no major problems.

You need to figureout a range of orifice plates for internal usage based on the differential pressure of your inclined manometer and then, a set of calibration plates for your testing pressure.
