Both my mom and dad have commented on that, it even surprised them. It seems while memories usually last a lifetime, hatred doesn't have to, a message hope for this messed up world we live in.

It was a beautiful fall day in Salt Lake today. 70º temperature, it was just wonderful. These are just cell phone pictures so they are not the best but this is what it looked like in Salt Lake. Notice we were under attack by giant insects from outer space

This picture was taken from the parking lot at work about a half hour before sunrise two weeks ago, it doesn't quite do the scene justice, the colour of completely cloudless sky set against the layer of shallow fog was very striking.

70 °F and a blooming rape seed ( canola ) field. Two days later it was even completely blue sky. weird weather at the moment, but the cold season is coming.

I agree!

Love seeing pics from everyone's area! I miss traveling with the military!

I made it to Germany a few times (Frankfort) back in 82 and a couple of times after that. Took a Rhine River trip that went past "my castle" on the river where my family ancestors came from. Did not know it at the time.

I don't miss the military life anymore though! LOL

Daniel, when was that picture taken? It seems odd to me that the canola would be blooming the same time the leaves are falling off the trees.

Anyways, beautiful picture. I've got to get back over there again, it's been too long. I used to have relatives living near there in Duisberg and I still have lots of them living just on the other side of the Dutch border.

I made the shot on the 2nd of November, so just a week ago. The field is still blooming and the trees are loosing their leaves. I never saw a canola field that late in the year and it is the only one in my area.
Dortmund isn't far away from Duisburg - Just 50 km away. The Dutch boarder is also quite near. I can travel over in around 90-100 km from my home.

The temperatures are gone down a bit, but still quite comfortable for a November.

Cheers,

Daniel

Well the Salt Lake City area really got snowed on. 12" at my house and 15" at my brothers. Slowly heading east. Hey you guys in MO, IL an PA area, batten down the hatches and get your snow blowers out and gassed up. :o
