Post by Flash »

This is what it looks like in side. Notice that big conection rod!!!
Image
Or how about this large 4 throw crank shaft. If you notice my boot at the left of the pic you will get and idea of the size.
Image
Maybe my hand will show the size of it.
Image
This is before the actual compressor ends are bolted on
Image

we have a 10 ton crane that strugles to lift the 2nt stage compressor cylinder
Image

This has been a lot of fun so far but the learning curve....wow!

I sure hope not, The crank alone would smash my car below ground surface!!!!!
Each unit, has 4 compressors and there are 4 units in that building. and to top it off, the semi driver could only bring 2 compressor per flat bed due to weight!

Rebuilding old out dated compressors with updated parts.

These are Natural Gas Compressors. back in the 1980's they were used to pull the gas from the ground to sell. once the gas was depleted they were shut down. A company bought the plant and are paying us to rebuild then so they can smash/compress gas for storage.

The white boxes are lint free rage we use to clean part before installing, like crank and rod bearings.
