I'm sure most of you "Airflow People" have read the article on Prof Blair and Assoc, about the perfect bellmouth. http://www.profblairandassociates.com/p ... h_Sept.pdf
Is there any locations inside the PTS flowbench that could benifit from a nicely shaped bellmouth?
The entry side of the vacume motors for example?

Re: The Perfect Bellmouth
Plans call for radius entries, 8 motors, ~600cfm @28" what more could you ask for . . . think the design is pretty darn good
Remember the idea was to keep it simple so it can be built with items from Lowes, Home-Depot or any hardware/lumber store using some simple hand tools.
I understand you are not questioning the design, and I'm not taking it as questioning. You would not be the first nor the last
Yes, you could probably get into some "fancy work" but then it defeats what the end goal of the plans are . . .

Bruce,Your forum, by it's very nature will attract those of us that like to go after details to make something work at it's best. I'm sure that the design is great...I'm just a detail sort of a guy, and have tooling to make bellmouths.

While plastic bellmouths are not that difficult to make with a heat gun and some thermoplastic tube, they can also be bought in a fair range of sizes as tuned ports for home made bass reflex loudspeakers.
Most good audio stores have these.

Also known as the infamous "Warpspeed" on some other Forums.

I do think you could imrove on workmanship but not much on the design, i am a firm beliver in attention to detail and in the end i think it will help with performance, noise level and poer consumtions.
Rick.
Go for it and post some pictures.

Nice find Tony!
I know where I can use one or two of these in a test fixture I need to build.

You guys may think I am just pulling your leg but this really has a great bellmouth shape and looking at the measuring tape comparison in the one photo these may work great on a 4 barrel. (as long as you can keep the kids from crapping in you carb)
