Inch of water to fps

Formula - (inches of water^0.5)*66.2

Can some one give me the "long hand" version of this equation.

Inches of water(^)????
Do i add water to .5 or do i times... .5x.5 Can't seam to get the right answer.

The carat ^ is the symbol used by most common spreadsheet programs for the exponent function so A^2 means A squared and inches of water^ 0.5 means inches of water to the exponent 0.5 which is just another way of saying the square root of the inches of water.

Sure, let's say the pitot pressure is 16 "WC, the velocity in fps is 66.2 x 16^0.5 = 66.2 x √16 = 66.2 x 4 = 264.8 fps.
