If you decide to replace the orifice disk with some of Bruce's internal orifice plates, you will need them rated at 6" to work with the Dwyer incline manometer. Then use orifice plates rated at 28" on top of the bench for calibration. That's the setup I used when I had the Dwyer incline manometer on my bench.

Ok after rereading more post I think I have an idea of whats going on and a plan. Using this spreadsheet I could make up may own orfice plates for 6" DP for inside the flowbench that should be within reason and then use Bruce's PAP on the top to calibrate from there. Is my line of thinking correct?

Yes, that will work.

I would get rid of the stainless mixing bowl's used for the intake and exhaust
control valves.

Yes, that is another thing that always bugged me about this flowbench. I was also planning to upgrade them as well. Thanks for the input.

Just for information about sharp edge orifice plates Bruce can make anything you want but sometimes it is unclear to how they work base on location. An example will be a 1.50” ID sharp edge plate this plate will flow the following and depending on where you put it will dictate its flow and use.

6” DP 74.7 CFM As an internal plat using a STD Dwyer incline
16” DP 122 CFM As an internal plate using the PTSDM
28” DP 143.1CFM As a calibration plate on top of the bench

It is all the same plate just what it flows at different pressure differentials. This was all assuming std air and .62 CD

That bench is fixable. Just how you go about it depends on how much flow you need.
