Nice car do you have any pictures of the engine ??
The Wheels remind of the Torque Thrust wheels
I like the width of the tires to fits the car
Its mean & fast looking setting still

hi malvin,
it uses a 3.5 litre v8 , and used to be twin staged ...
but then i took of the small turbo ,and decided to try a twin scroll spool valve, which i got distracted from by other engineering projects and also by the fact that fuel went up to 1.40 a litre .
its now down to 1.10 ,so i thought hey ,lets drag it out wash it ,and see how its looking .

Nice ivanhoew
3.5 Liter = 213.58 cubic inches
that should have a little higher rpm 6500-7500 rpm ?? Is that a Rover engine ??
I bet that car is a hand full when the turbos spool up

yes malvin its the rover lump , the cam is the crane 216 , and it got to the 240 bhp limit of the dyno it was on at 4500,, on only 9 psi. pk power should be around 6500 with that cam and ported heads .but it did tend to choke due to the small turbo being a it too small ,spool up was extremely violent though ,which i liked .
i drag raced it with treaded tyres way back in 93 . on 9 psi it ran 13.1 108 mph , then i tried it on 12 psi ,and accidentally turned the water injection off at 2/3 track , it immediately siezed up ,but still ran a 12.85 @100mph . i worked out that if that run had had the same top end as the ealier runs had , on the 9psi boost , it would have been a 12.59 ,and i estimate that if it had done the full run on 12 psi it would have run 12.32 at 112.
shame i never got to try it at 20 psi like i have run on the street .

Robert, is that a Buick/Rover V8 i think in the states they refer to them as 215CID but i think that is all sales stuff anyway. I always liked those cars.

Nice car. In Australia we grabbed the 3.5 and turned it into a 4.4. for the P76 (I think it was also shipped bat to the UK for use in trucks). A change of bore measurements will take it out to 5.0 with the right pistons and sleeves. The heads are a bit asthmatic with capacities higher than 4.4-4.6-7 but Extrude Honing (which I'd love to try out oneday) would fix that easily.
On a side note Leyland (Australia) were also working on a V6 version of the 4.4 litre V8 to replace the straight 6 in the Marina and the P76. It was going to be 3.3 litres and outperform the 3.5 V8.

I would like that too although I have never driven a car with a turbo 20 PSI of boost I bet that is right down nasty
& Fun at the same time
I do know a few guys that have the Land Rovers with the 3.5 Liter V8 engine
they actually like them they say they are very dependable even when they
do modification to the engine & cylinder heads cam etc,
I do follow along in your other thread You do Very nice work Robert
