I got my first book in this series today. I think Robert was getting it also. I found it used and it was cheap. This series is dry, tongue-in-cheek British humor. I loved these books the first time and then they disappeared. I have been wanting to read them again. It has a historical background and has to do with WWI.

I'm in that area semi frequently. I hang a right on 70W to 68 when I go to WV, just north of you. The Md panhandle is some really beautiful country IMO. Nice drive all the way to WV.
