Installed height mic for valve opening fixture?

Post by John Doney »

Anybody ever try this? I can't bring myself to pay close to $500 dollars for a valve opening fixture on ebay.
The only problem I can think about would be the stability of the mic and valve retainer. If I can't make the mic work, I think I'd rather just build a fixture somehow.

I looked at this a few years back with a very simple low vacuum bench. The valve wouldn't stay where I wanted so I went a different way. If you can tie the retainer down some way it might work. In saying that, its not hard to make a mechanical opener

Oddly enough I was looking at that fixture this evening. As car stuff goes I guess that really isn't all that terrible, I might just pick that one up.

Thanks guys!
