Fun loving automotive day . . .

Just spent the better part of today changing out a radiator on my wife's Jeep Liberty . . . when did they start using plastic in these things??

Daughter's "Man" came in the other night and said something red is leaking near the front, first thought was trans-fluid, closer inspection showed a small hairline crack on the side tank in the top.

All-in-all it was not that bad of a job as they made it somewhat easy for the mechanics to do. Working with anti-freeze is probably one of my least favorite projects!!

Wasn't what I had planned on doing today though . . .

A long time ago. I'm not sure when Jeep starting using plastic but my 1978 VW Rabbit had plastic tanks with an aluminium core. IMO, a significant advance over the brass radiators of the day, lightweight and comparatively corrosion free.
