Cruisin' the Coast

Cruisin' the Coast starts this weekend, I will be riding along Hwy 90 thru Biloxi and Gulfport, MS. I'll try to take plenty of pictures.

Man I love driv'n this Dakota, handles like a well tuned Camaro. Has plenty of power with the 5.9L

And much easier to get in and out of. I went for a ride in my buddies Chrysler Crossfire. Very hard for me to get in and out of and feels too tight when you are in it. It is fast though. He has the SR6T or something like that. Supercharged.
That Dakota should have some skoot with that engine in it. I hear the heads are much better than the earlier ones.

I'm not up to date on which heads came on the 5.9L (lack of research on my part). Is this head like the Magnum head offered by Mopar Performance in the late 90's?

Im not up to speed with the late models mag's, but the
early mag motor had a bad reputation for cracking between the intake and exh valve..........some leaked coolent.......most didn't.........but if you over heated them, you were in trouble!

Here is a really good article comparing the older LA style engine to a newer Magnum engine. It is a Hot Rod article where they build up a later Magnum engine. I can see Ray's wheels spinning in thought...hmm
