FlowSoftBasic & FlowSoftExcel on Windows 7 64 bit Home Prem

I've got FlowSoftBasic & FlowSoftExcel working on 2 Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium computers now. Here's what was involved.
**** The Windows 7 64 BIT ISSUES****
It's a path problem. I have successfully installed FlowSoft to both paths and have it working with the DM. I have a version of FlowSoftExcel for both installation paths.
With the 64 Bit version of Win 7, there are two paths that programs will install to.
"c:\program files (x86)\flowsoft" [the new path for 32 bit applications]
"c:\program files\flowsoft" [the new path for 64 bit applications]
Bruce has 4 files that need to be installed in a specific order [for now].
GETTING FLOWSOFT BASIC INSTALLED
Here's the method I suggest at this point.
Install the 4 files in the correct order BUT, watch your screens. Anything that want's to install to" c:\program files (x86)\flowsoft" during installation, should be redirected to " c:\program files\flowsoft" instead. It's a simple matter of editing the install location text box when it appears on the screen.
MICROSOFT's SECURITY PITFALLS
During a logmein.com session to a users computer, I discovered after everything was installed, there were security issues. The user didn't have permission to write to the .mdb file located in the " c:\program files (x86)\flowsoft\data" directory. I edited the security on that directory to give the user FULL permission. That fixed the issue. It was the same thing with the install to " c:\program files\flowsoft\data"directory as well. It will be a computer specific situation. Improper setup from the purchaser is the culprit there.
OFFICE 10 PITFALLS
Once everything was installed, Office 10 opened FSE in read only mode. I had to configure Excel to allow compatibility mode. Here's an article about that http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to-di ... fice-2010/.
In typical Microsoft fashion, they came up with a method to address their multitude of security issues with their applications. This solution was one of their rather "hokey" fixes IMO but under the circumstances, it's at least something.....
END RESULT
Everything works perfectly. FlowSoftBasic runs as it should & FlowSoftExcel runs as it should. So there's no real need to have to abandon your newer Windows 7 64 Bit computer for your flowbench and find an old XP computer to use. Both FlowSoftBasic and FlowSoftExcel are actually Win7 64 ready right now if you follow some instructions to defeat some Microsoft glitches.
Anyway, if you need assistance installing FSB or FSE on a Win7 64 computer for your flowbench, just holler and I'm pretty confident I can get it working for you.
