I need help from you electrical guys here. I am going to run 110 motors in series so I can use 220v supply. I want to install amp meter(s) to monitor the amps I am drawing. I have seen some dual meters on ebay that measure both volts and amps and are digital display. Do I need to run two amp meters? One for the black leg and one for the red leg?

As long as everything is running off of 220V, and no current is flowing through the neutral, i.e. it'll run with the neutral (white) wire disconnected, then one ammeter will suffice.

I was just going to wire it per schematic that was just posted last week? where it showed using 110 motors in series. Keep in mind I do not have a great electrical back ground. One time when my Dad was punishing me he said "GO GET A SWITCH!" and it took me an hour to get back from Home Depot.

You said looking at them on ebay
I asked for the linky? Or for you old guys link to meters?
Would be a nice sales tool for on a demo flowbench to be able to show the amps running.

yes the "linky's"
Malvin used show what I was looking at. The second link shows something along the line of what I want to do. As Ed mentioned the way it will be wired I think one meter will be fine and easy to install, Thanks guys!

Here is something interesting, a 10 gauge wire in romex, as in a 10/3 cable has an amp rating of 30 amps at a room temp of 86ยบ f. If you take the same 10 gauge wire in a single conductor not in conduit or bundled as in romex has an amp rating of 58 amps at the same room temp. I had no idea it would be that much difference.
