Mounting Your Vacuum Motors So They Are Removable? - How are you doing it?

Discussion on general flowbench design

The MSD plans recommend mounting the vacuum motors to the center divider panel with high quality silicon adhesive which would make them permanently affixed.

I'd like to be able to remove them in the event I have to replace a fried motor or want to switch motors.

Has anyone come up with an easy way to mount the motors so they seal well but are easily removable?

If you wanted to be fancy, you could router a groove
in the cabinet to accept a big rubber o-ring.

One for each motor.

Then glue the o-ring in the groove with Silicone, and the motor or a block off plate, seals against the o-ring.

The GS Electric motors I am using have (4) mounting holes in the plastic motor housing. Two holes are drilled and two are solid but I drilled them out. Mine are mounted to a 1/4 aluminum plate, but the motor sticks through the plate and screws are installed from the backside. A small hollow rubber weatherstrip gasket is used as the seal on the backside of the rotor housing.
