Changing SG

If you were to change the fluid in the incline to a different SG would you have to change the scale or change the orifices calculation. Thanks

Yes, the specific gravity changes the scale. For example, if you manometer requires 12"WC of pressure to go for 0 to 100% with water (SP=1.00) and you changed the fluid to Dwyer's 0.826 sp red oil, the manometer would now require 12X0.826=9.912" WC to go from 0 to 100%. Check out the spreadsheet in , you can play all of the parameters of the manometer including specific gravity and see how the scale changes.

86 so what you are saying is if the incline scale was intended for an SG of 1 at a 12" rise and I changed the fluid in the incline to .826 the rise would still be the same but I would calculate the orfices to 9.912" of rise, or take the sqrt value between .826 and 1" (.9088) and times that by the original calculated cfm @ 12".

Does anything else change in the spreadsheet you made for the incline if you were to change fluids? Thanks for the help.

The percentage scale stays the same but the actual pressure that corresponds to the points on the scale do change.
