I needed to get some Dwyer red gauge fluid, and I was looking for places to get it. Turnes out Grainger sells it, and at least in my area, they have 9 4oz bottles in stock, for $9.20 a bottle

I haven't bought any in a while, but that sounds pretty close to what I paid for it at Dwyer. They sell directly to me here, but shipping from Indiana might actually drive the cost up higher for you. If you substitute the blue fluid, you can test at higher cfm for a given orifice size, due to the difference in specific gravity. Tom V. mentioned that it is the only real difference between a SF-300 and a SF-600. Maybe some one who knows more about it will expand on the idea.

Marvel Mystery oil (MMO), if you compare the MSDS between Dwyer red fluid and MMO they are almost identical and the specific gravity is the same.

MMO has a spec gravity of .876 and Dwyer Gage oil is .826 sorry I was off a tad in my assumption.

Hmm, the MSDS sheet I have for Marvel oil is .830?
