Head Adapter - What size hole should I make in FB top

Discussion on general flowbench design

Postby Dom G » Sat May 15, 2004 11:25 pm

I'm close to being finished building the cabinet for my MSD styled flowbench.

One question I have that doesn't seem to have been discussed previously is how big should the hole in the top of the flowbench be for mounting the cylinder head adapter.

I will be flowing a number of different cylinder heads for a variety of cylinder bore sizes but am unsure how large the hole in the top of the cabinet should be.

Would appreciate any suggestions and help.

Thanks.

Dom,
I made the hole in the top of my bench 5" diameter with 4 5/16" studs spaced on the corners of a 5" square to bolt the adapter down.
This sizing will fit any adapter made to suit a superflow bench, mondello etc.. I think it makes sense to use the industry standards where you can.
