Hi, I have just built a flow bench and was hoping some one could explain the whole idea of calibration. Im using a Bosch MAF sensor and a Honeywell pressure transducer(0-28inch) and have obtained (at pains) calibration tables for both. My understanding is that i test a calibrated orifice and graph my results against its results and obtain a correction for actual airflow. Will the pressure matter? Do i even need to calibrate the bench as i have tables

Anthony,

Flow stesting a precision orifice is about the only way I know to calibrate a flow bench.

Your data charts will get you pretty close to what you want. They are usually a chart that will cover a wide range of tolerances in the sensors, unless the parts are individualy charted.
