Digital Manometer?

Throwing this out for discussion . . . what about digital manometers with RS-232 interface or USB connection? I see them on ebay all the time for less than $200.

Would you not be able to read the data into Excel?

Use a digital manometer w/output for differential pressure and a water gage for your static.

Edit: After posting this message I contacted Extech a supplier of this product and asked about the software capabilities for data output from an HD700 manometer which is a 2psi meter. I'll keep everyone updated on what I findout.

I got a reply back on the software, it would capture the data as a file, the file would be exported to Excel. It is not real-time capture to Excel.

This would be another option for a way to go digital with a bench and not a replacement for a stand alone flow computer as discussed in previous threads.

I would stay away from RS-232. None of the newer computers have RS-232 interface. USB is the right path.

RS-232 is not a problem:

A) it's nice (and ecomomical) to use old legacy computer which still have serial ports.
B) it still works with plain old Operating Systems
C) An USB->RS-232 Adapter costs nearly nothing, if you are using a Mac or a modern Computer.
