I have a msd/mercdog bench. I am having problems keeping the valve bowls tight on the threaded rods. Any idea how to solve this problem?

Red loctite should do it.

The only problem I have now is trying to get to the bolts without taking the bench apart.

Have you tried Nylon Lock Nuts ?

I have nylox on the bottom and I used two nuts on the top. The top ones came apart. I am probably going to pull the side off of the bench. Then fix the valve problem. Once that is done I am going to fix the side to where it is removeable.

It seems to me that you have the Nuts loosing up on the control valves when the valves have been tightened too tightly (to get a good seal) or the valve sticks with the bore and the nuts back off, etc.

The valve design I like looks like this (hope it works)

|

---|D--------------------

Except the D is larger naturally.

As the valve enters the flexible plastic sheet it seals and also provides
some warning that the valve is touching the flexible plastic sealing material.

The other advantage is that the sealing material can be installed for perfect centering after the normal valve has been mounted in the typical two locations.

Food for thought.
