Dose it really matter if the valve side chamber has a small leak?

If the test side has no leak and the valve side has a small leak (orifice bench) and you read 28" on the test side chamber "A", the other side (valve)side chamber "B"should have 40" even if it has a small leak. Correct or incorrect. If this is the case then the only chamber that has to be airtight in the bench would be "A".

As long as the system is completely leak free between the item under test, and your flow measurement device, the same identical air volume will flow through both. No more and no less.

So my assumption was correct than, the only thing in the bench that has to be airtight is from the orifice (same side as the test piece) to the surface of the test piece. thanks Tony.
