When measuring a port with calipers is there an industry standard where to measure,for example should the ssr be measured at the center or more towards the seat or inlet or say for the throat at the base of the seat or closer to the valve at the bottom angle.

I personally measure the port lengths from the bottom of the seat cut and the throat diameter at it's smallest point which is generally at the bottom of the inside cut.
I'll email you a paper on different ways to measure port areas.
