Hey Tony,
Are the three phase variable speed controls expensive? Approx how much aussie?
Like FPVGTP I've got a really big fan too that I was thinking of using, mainly because its all set up with a 3 ph motor. The fan housing is about 2.5 feet diameter - squirrel or drum type fan.
Any thoughts guys?

Jim,

What you want is a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive), new they can be pricey but they are often on ebay. You need to do your homework on them as they can be as simple as a analog control knob to digital control. Most i have looked at will allow variable voltage input for remote control I/E vfd in the box and knob on the face of the flow bench.
