new to this and dont quite understand it all yeat, trying to build a msd, mercdog type bench. the question i have is if you were building the same bench and you were going to use dwyer manometers which ones would you use. part # etc. i am trying to build a bench that will flow around 450 cfm @ 28". also how many motors would it take. thanks for all of your help. like i said before i dont understand it quite yeat.

I am using Dwyer manometers in my project. The inclined manometer is a model 246, special order with "percent of flow scale", part number 19578-00. The base price is $354.00, plus a $150.00 set-up charge for the "pct flow" scale. Since I was paying the extra set-up money, they asked if I wanted to include anything else , so I had them put my (reg. trademark) shop logo on one corner of the scale.
If you order more than one, they waive the set up fee on all additional units. Through a communication foul-up/misunderstanding I learned that the hard way. I now have two of them.
I also used Dwyer 60" vertical mano's. Part # 162250-00. They were specials too, at $253.00+ $50.00 set-up.

Larry is right. You'll probably do very well to use the FP 1 and it's not very expensive. Users report great accuracy and ease of use. Check back through the "search" and click "from the beginning"

I'm accustomed to manometers, and still watch them on my current bench, even though it is running electronics. I think it is an age thing, trying to learn the new tricks and hanging on to the old ones. I love the speed and convenience of the electronics, and would not ever want to part with them. My new bench is getting electronics, too. Still, I derive a certain satisfaction when I watch the inclined mano. go where I expect it to after I modify a port or do some seat work. Now I think I'll go back to my porch, and "roll over and play dead", tricks I understand and do well.

A couple of years ago I bought two of the 246 manometers off of E-Bay. Around $200.00 each.
Sometimes if you win the bidding you get a good manometer deal there.

I bought the 6' manometers I have from Rick Blood (owner of the Flow Data):

The percent scales were more effort but at the time was only an additional $37.00 charge.
Apparently that has all changed now.
